These charming snowcoaches are essential for the residents of Eidsbugarden, providing the only link to civilization during the harsh winter months. Our snowcoaches, each with a maximum capacity of 12 persons, operate daily on a fixed schedule between Tyin and Eidsbugarden, offering an approximately 45-minute journey through a mesmerizing winter wonderland.

Upon your arrival at Eidsbugarden, you’ll be provided with a pair of snowshoes to explore the beautiful surroundings at your own pace. Our friendly driver will give you a brief introduction on how to use the snowshoes and offer suggestions for the best routes to take. You can take a self-guided snowshoe walk and immerse yourself in the stunning winter landscape, enjoying the fresh air and tranquil silence. For a more secure and enjoyable snowshoeing experience, we highly recommend adding a professional private guide (available as an add-on).

We invite you to indulge in a delicious meal at the cozy local lodge, Fondsbu. It’s the only eatery in Eidsbugarden that perfectly complements the enchanting surroundings, enhancing the charm of your experience. The Fondsbu lodge offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, where we’ll serve you a scrumptious meal made with local ingredients. During your visit to Eidsbugarden, you’re welcome to enjoy the meal at a time that suits you best. You can choose between two enticing options: “Dagens middag med kaffe/te” (Today’s dinner with coffee/tea) or “Fondsburger” (Homemade burger).

To fully relish your winter adventure in the high-altitude mountains of Jotunheimen, dressing appropriately for cold weather conditions and local temperatures is paramount. For a comfortable and enjoyable experience, we strongly recommend donning warm, waterproof clothing, sturdy boots or shoes, and applying sunscreen and wearing sunglasses in case of sunny weather. Avoid wearing trail runners, everyday shoes, or sneakers. Please be aware that, for safety reasons, we reserve the right to refuse your participation in the tour if inappropriate clothing is worn.

Everyone is welcome to join this winter tour, regardless of experience. Please feel free to share any questions or considerations you may have. Let us know if there’s anything particular we should attend to or any special requirements we should accommodate.

Orientation
To assist you in getting oriented, we will supply you with a physical map and a tour description. Upon your arrival, our staff will provide a briefing and offer suggestions for the most optimal routes to explore. For a safer and more enjoyable experience, we highly recommend considering the option of including a professional private guide in your booking.

Minimum of two attendees required for this tour. If there aren’t enough bookings for your chosen day, we will notify you by email or phone before 6:00 PM on the day before your booked date. You can then choose to join a rescheduled trip or cancel your order free of charge.

Departure
The snowcoach departs at the latest by 1:45 PM (13:45). Please ensure you arrive no later than 1:30 PM (13:30). The departure address is: Eidsbugardvegen 1, 2985 Tyinkrysset.

Arrival
You will return to Tyin at approximately 5:00 PM (17:00). The snowcoach departs back to Tyin from Eidsbugarden at 4:15 PM (16:15). Ensure punctuality to avoid missing the return trip.
