Our “Weekend Tour de Dovre” offers the same unforgettable cycling journey as the original Tour de Dovre but in a condensed format. Covering the full scenic route, we’ve simply removed the first and last overnight stays, perfect for travelers short on time but eager to dive into new adventures.
This tour takes you through Norway’s diverse landscapes, with welcoming local communities, friendly farms, and unique encounters with Norwegian wildlife. Ride past three stunning national parks, each offering distinctive views and well-marked trails.
With luggage transported for you, you can fully enjoy the adventure. Two nights, relax in comfortable accommodations with hearty local cuisine that showcases the region’s flavors. Bike rentals, including mountain and e-bikes, are available to ensure everyone can join the ride.

Add-on
Bike rental
When you rent a bike from us, you can pick it up at the Trolltun Guesthous ein Dombås. The bikes are equipped with rep kit, bottle holder, luggage rack and flat pedals.
Helmet and bike bag can be booked in addittion.
Train from/to Oslo
We always want to facilitate you to make green choices. You can choose to add train tickets from/to Oslo. The train station is about 2 km away from Trolltun Guesthouse and we recommend booking a taxi (we will supply you with the right contact/phone number).
Extra night at Dombås
If you would like to stay the last night again in Dombås, let us know, and we can add a night at Trolltun Guesthouse for you.
Musk Ox Safari and Horseback Riding
Discover two of the region’s most iconic activities: a musk ox safari and horseback riding. Witness these incredible animals in their natural habitat on a guided hike or explore the stunning landscape on horseback with Hjerkinn. Important details
To fully enjoy your cycling adventure in the mountainous areas, it’s important to dress appropriately for the weather conditions and local temperatures. For a comfortable and enjoyable experience, we recommend wearing warm, waterproof clothing, sturdy shoes for cycling, and bringing sunscreen and sunglasses.
Luggage Transport
We will send your luggage from cabin to cabin, so you only need to bring a daypack. To make this operation possible, you need to deliver your luggage the first day at Trolltun Guesthouse at noon 12.00 pm.
Accommodation
At Hjerkinn you will get a private bathroom with a toilet and shower. In the DNT lodge Grimsdalshytta, you will meet a traditional atmosphere where the rooms have bunk beds and bathrooms and showers are in the hall.
Hjerkinn Fjellstue:
Hjerkinn Fjellstue og Fjellridning in Dovrefjell National park has a long tradition of hosting travelers and has provided friendly, high-quality accommodation for hikers and visitors for 1200 years.
Grimsdalshytta DNT-cabin:
Grimsdalshytta is situated in the picturesque Grimsdalen Valley, near the village of Dovre. The lodge is surrounded by stunning natural beauty, with towering mountains, lush forests, and meandering rivers. Grimsdalshytta offers stunning landscapes, outdoor activities, and a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and provides you with an unforgettable experience in the heart of Norway’s wilderness.
Meals
All restaurants offer food based on local ingredients. For breakfast there will be a buffet. Here you also need to make yourself a packed lunch that you bring to lunch for the day. It is possible to fill a thermos. Dinner will be served in the afternoon/evening.
Route
Gravel/trail
You will receive GPX coordinates compatible with your mobile device or GPS. Most of the trail follows well-maintained gravel roads, which, while occasionally featuring some potholes, are generally in good condition. Certain sections of the trail are also paved with asphalt.

Kilometers: 20-65 kilometres
Altitude: up to 1000 meters elevation
Terrain: fine gravel roads or asphalt, can be short sections with a path
Trips are mainly on good gravel or asphalt roads, but there may be shorter sections where you will have to wheel a bit in rough terrain. If the Easy level suits you with a pedal bike, you can perhaps manage the Medium level with an e–bike.
