Important Details

To fully enjoy your skiing adventure in the mountainous areas, it’s important to dress appropriately for the weather conditions and local temperatures. For a comfortable and enjoyable experience, we recommend wearing warm, waterproof clothing, and bringing sunscreen and sunglasses.

The winter season starts with short days with daylight, but then you will get a lot of clear starry sky, and if you are lucky even northern light. Bring a headlamp and ski in the dark! From around mid Febuary, you will get longer days. And in the spring on warm days, it can even be possible to ski in a bikini.

Gomobu Mountain Lodge

You will stay at Gomobu Mountain lodge. The lodge is situated in the mountains at 950 m.a.s.l. in the popular cabin region of Vaset in the inland of Norway. From the lodge, you have access to more than 140 kilometers of groomed tracks for cross-country skiing.

You will stay in a double or single room with a private bathroom. Here you have access to the sauna, lounge, and restaurant with a wonderful view over the mountains.

Breakfast, packed lunch, and dinner are included. Lunch you will do yourself at the breakfast buffet and you can fill up warm tea or other drinks for your thermos bottle for the day. Dinner is served as a 3-course dinner.

Our chefs are using ingredients from local farmers to prepare traditional Norwegian food in a modern style – after your day’s activity for sure another highlight during your stay.

Ski Tracks

The tracks run through varied, rolling terrain, from spruce and birch forests up to the high open plains with wounderful views. The forest tracks offer protection from windy and snowy weather while the tracks on the mountain plateau offer wide views on fine days. In general, the tracks in Vaset are easy to intermediate with not too long and not too steep ascends and easy, fun downhill runs and flat parts in between. They fit everyone from beginners and families to competing skiers who come here for exercise. All routes are well described.

This is a trip very easy to adjust to your skill level at cross-country skies. It is advisable that you have tried cross-country before, but not required.
