Schedule

Early in the morning (8.30am) you will leave Oslo with a comfortable bus.

On this 4-hours bus tour from Oslo to Beitostølen you will pass through the valley of Begnadalen and the beautiful region of Valdres, before arriving Beitostølen skiing resort. Outside the window you will probably be able to see frozen lakes, waterfalls, and a perfectly white landscape colored by traditional Norwegian lodge houses.

Upon arrival in Beitostølen you have about 2 hours to discover Beitostølen on you own, the actual trip starts at 15.00. You will meet your guide close to the busstation at the meeting point. There is a warm place inside ready for you, you do not need to wait outside in the cold.

We descend into the valley towards lake Øyangen, passing through snow-covered forests and peaceful winter landscapes, until we arrive at Øyangen – a private mountain lake surrounded by snowy trees and mountain views.

Out on the frozen lake, a serene and memorable winter experience awaits.

Your guide will give a short introduction to ice fishing, show you how to drill a hole in the ice, and teach you how to fish for mountain trout. Then it’s your turn to try!

While you fish, we light a fire and serve warm drinks. If we’re lucky and catch a trout, the guide will help prepare it over the open fire for you to taste.

Sitting beside your own fishing hole, feeling the fresh mountain air and listening to the crackling fire creates a unique sense of calm that only winter can offer.

This tour requires moderate physical fitness, including a short walk on the ice—often with snowshoes—to reach the fishing spot.

You will return to Beitostølen arround 18:00 to catch the bus back to Oslo where you will arrive approximately at 10pm
