Besseggen Guided Daytrip
Join a guided hiking daytrip across the iconic Besseggen ridge in Jotunheimen National Park—one of Norway’s most famous and breathtaking hikes. The adventure begins with a scenic 20-minute boat ride across the emerald waters of Lake Gjende to Memurubu. From there, the 14-kilometer hike leads you along a dramatic ridge between two stunning alpine lakes: the deep blue Bessvatnet and the striking green Lake Gjende, a unique natural contrast that makes this trail unforgettable.
The route climbs steadily from Memurubu, offering less exposure than the reverse direction and opening up panoramic views across much of Jotunheimen. The highest point of the trail reaches 1,743 meters above sea level. While the hike is demanding, it is suitable for experienced hikers in good shape, and our experienced guide ensures a safe and enjoyable experience.
Expect to spend around 7–8 hours on the trail in a small group, moving at a comfortable pace with time to take in the spectacular scenery.
Hiking Besseggen is more than a hike—it’s a bucket list adventure and a true highlight of any trip to Norway.
