Important Details / Equipment / Packing List
To fully enjoy your winter holiday in Jotunheimen, it’s important to dress appropriately for the weather conditions and local temperatures. For a comfortable and enjoyable experience, we recommend wearing warm, waterproof clothing, and bringing sunscreen and sunglasses.
The winter season starts with short days with daylight, but then you will get a lot of clear starry sky, and if you are lucky even northern light. Bring a headlamp and ski in the dark! From around mid Febuary, you will get longer days.
When you book with us, we’ll provide you with a packing list to ensure you have all the necessary clothing and gear.
Difficulty
Easy – Medium
All activities during this trip don’t require much experience. However, you will be out in cold weather and active for some hours which will deplete your energy levels. You should be able to walk on uneven ground for some hours
Ski / Snowshoeing Tracks
The tracks run through varied, rolling terrain, from spruce and birch forests up to the higher open plains with wonderful views. The forest tracks offer protection from windy and snowy weather while the tracks on the open spaces offer wide views on fine days. In general, the tracks are easy to intermediate with not too long and not too steep ascends and easy, fun downhill runs and flat parts in between.
