Ski Tracks
Gomobu and the Vaset area offer excellent cross-country skiing in scenic mountain terrain in the Valdres region, with 120–150 km of groomed trails for both classic and skate skiing. The network ranges from easy, family-friendly loops to longer mountain routes in open terrain that can be more demanding. From the higher sections near Gomobu and the trails towards Syni viewpoint (1,137 m), skiers enjoy expansive views towards Jotunheimen and Langsua National Parks, especially on clear winter days.
In addition to cross-country skiing, the area also offers opportunities for alpine skiing at the small, family-friendly Vaset Skiheiser, as well as dedicated sledging hills that are popular with children and families. Reliable snow conditions, varied landscapes of birch forest and mountain plateau, and well-marked tracks make the area suitable for both leisure and advanced skiers. It is an ideal choice for those seeking a relaxed winter holiday with plenty of space and generally quiet trails.
Difficulty
Easy to Moderate
This trip is suitable for guests with some initial cross-country skiing experience. The routes lead through gently to moderately hilly terrain with some longer climbs and gentle descents. Basic skiing technique and a normal level of fitness are recommended. The tracks offer varied landscapes and well-prepared trails. The actual difficulty may vary depending on personal experience, fitness level, weather conditions, and the condition of the ski tracks.
Support fee for cross-country trail maintenance
A small fee is included in your trip to support local cross-country skiing clubs that maintain and prepare all the ski tracks you use during your stay. Most of the work in these clubs is done voluntarily by local residents who dedicate time and effort to keep the trails in good condition throughout the winter. The contribution helps cover equipment, fuel, and maintenance. With this fee, you help to support local communities and ensure that a wide network of well-prepared ski tracks remain available throughout the winter.
