A Genuine Norwegian Experience: My Internship in Jotunheimen

My name is Leticia, and I’m a Business and Tourism student from the Complutense University of Madrid in Spain. Although this isn’t my first time in Norway (I’ve visited several times since 2021 and even lived in the heart of Oslo for a full year), this stay has felt different in the best possible way. It might just be the most genuine experience I’ve had in the country so far.

What has been your favorite part of the internship so far?

Without a doubt, the people. For me, what makes Jotunheimen Travel truly special is the fact that it lives by its values and has created what I like to call the JVB family. It’s a mindful business that has always advocated for local resources and places a strong emphasis on sustainability, offering packages that use environmentally friendly transport.

The team is amazing and wonderfully diverse. Georg, the CEO, is engaging and encourages creativity and self-development. Anna-Maria and Ann-Kristin manage bookings and are always welcoming, warm, and incredibly patient. Simon and Lorena work with product design and are generous with their knowledge, always happy to help and share their expertise. Glenn, our B2B sales agent, is not only highly knowledgeable but also an absolute pleasure to work with. And Robert from the marketing department has been especially insightful—we’ve worked on some really fun projects together, including going on a cross-country skiing trip to record TikTok content (which was extra memorable, considering I had never skied before!).

Feeling Like Part of the Family

From day one, I’ve been treated as a full member of the team (something that means more than I can put into words). Even though my internship was originally planned for just five weeks, I was invited to all events and included in everything, which made the team feel more like a family than a workplace.

The location itself is just as special as the people. Situated in the heart of Norway, Jotunheimen offers an incredible setting where you can choose your own pace; whether that means an active, adventurous lifestyle or a calmer experience with plenty of space for reflection and personal time.

Did your internship turn out the way you expected?

It exceeded all expectations. What was originally planned as a five-week internship turned into something much more meaningful, and I’m now continuing my journey as an employee. That says a lot about how special this place really is.

Would you recommend Jotunheimen Travel as an internship destination?

Absolutely. Looking at the internship panorama in Norway and beyond, this is an outstanding option. It’s not only an educational experience but a true lifetime adventure filled with professional growth, unforgettable moments, and an incredible landscape.
