Femundsmarka
Femundsmarka National Park in Norway is one of the oldest and largest continuous wilderness areas in southern Scandinavia, spanning forests, lakes and wetlands. Protected since 1971, it supports rare plant and animal species and offers hiking, canoeing and fishing in unspoiled nature. Skarvheimen is a high mountain area between Jotunheimen and Hardangervidda in southern Norway, known for varied landscapes of broad valleys, rugged peaks and traditional mountain routes. It offers extensive hiking and ski touring networks with marked trails and cabins managed by DNT, enabling low-impact multi-day outdoor experiences.

Langsua
Often referred to as Jotunheimen’s little sister, Langsua National Park in Norway is a protected area of low mountains, forests and wetlands with rich biodiversity and cultural heritage.
Established in 2011, its landscapes include birch and old-growth conifer woods, rare plants and varied wildlife. Visitors can hike, cycle and ski on marked trails, and learn about historic land use.
Transport options include bus and train to nearby towns, with guidance on responsible behaviour to protect nature and cultural values.
