We at JVB Travel are proud to share that we have achieved level 2, the Travelife Partner Award, a recognition of our long-term commitment to sustainability and responsible tourism.
Being based in Fagernes, right in the heart of Valdres, we see every day how important it is to protect the nature and culture we are lucky to work with. As a local tour operator and part of the JVB Group, this milestone means a lot to us—it reflects not only our values but also the way we want to shape tourism going forward: local, sustainable, and long-term.
Sustainability through collaboration
– We truly want to be a player that contributes positively to the travel industry, and through our work, strengthen the destinations we operate in for the long term—so that we can continue working in tourism in the future. Travelife is a perfect tool for us, enabling us to involve the entire value chain,” says Georg Sichelschmidt, CEO of JVB Travel.
To achieve the Travelife Partner level, we had to meet over 100 criteria covering how we operate our office, design our products, work with partners, and communicate with our guests. The certification is built on the internationally recognized ISO 26000 standard for Corporate Social Responsibility, and includes key themes such as the environment, biodiversity, human rights and fair working conditions.

A globally recognized certification
Travelife is one of the leading international sustainability certification systems for tour operators. More than 35 national tourism associations support the program, including ABTA (UK), ANVR (NL), PATA (Asia), FTT (South Africa), SMAL (Finland), UHPA (Croatia), JARTA (Japan), APAVT (Portugal), which shows how widely recognized and important this certification is in our industry.
This is just a step on our journey—but an important one. It helps us ensure that our entire operation, from office routines to on-the-ground experiences, reflects the kind of tourism we believe in: one that gives back to the places and people that make it possible.
