Day to day
Long have the fjords and mountains of Norway been praised for their beauty, pureness, and unrivalled scenic presence, and for long have travellers journeyed to the country during summer, but what about a visit during the off-beaten season, winter? When snow covers most of the country, and the sun sets early, Norway gives a display of the quiet power of “kos” allowing visitors to discover old and new beauties in a different setting.
This winter holiday starts from Oslo towards Bergen via the famous Jotunheimen mountains and the Sognefjord area. Designed for those with higher activity levels than a husky, our program does include as well some moments of relax, but most likely we will find you venturing in the wilderness even when you’re supposed to rest, and who could blame you? Winter in Norway is something nobody wants to miss!
You start from Oslo, on one of our comfortable buses, with a scenic ride to the small winter resort of Beitostølen; if you’re not feeling tired, try dogsledding! Not a fan of huskies? In Beitostølen we have plenty of alternatives! After two nights board our trusted snowcoaches on the historic route to the heights of Eidsbugarden – a remote hotel, with the typical wooden red exterior, common to many huts in the country. The sound of silence is what you need to unplug yourself from all the hustle and buzzle of civilization.
Not ready to come back to civilization yet? Head further down, Where Jotunheim meets the longest and deepest fjord, Sognefjord! Still without a wow-picture to show back home? Try the snowshoe hike to Paradisjuvet, it has excellent viewpoints your camera will love! You’re the out-of-the-box fanatic? Try winter paddling in a kayak!
Still up and running? Time to venture back from the Big North! Catch the bus to Flåm and close this wonderful adventure either in Bergen or Oslo before returning to everyday life!
