Guided Snowshoe HikeShare:
Join us for a spectacular guided hike in the snow covered mountains
Jotunheimen is fabulous in its winter coat; unexplored landscape as far as the eye can see, snow covered mountains and peaks surrounding you, and of course, nature’s best healing therapy, the sound of silence. Along with the guide and the small group, you’ll enjoy a nice and relaxing (but still physically demanding) hike around the Bygdin area.
Walking on snowshoes is a very fun and liberating way of discovering winter landscapes as you have the freedom to walk wherever you wish. Still the climate and weather are unpredictable so it’s always best to travel with a local guide or someone who knows the area well. This guided hike in Jotunheimen is thus perfect for those who want to try a different adventure!
Get the Valdresekspressen from Oslo and join the guide at Beitostølen. You’ll drive up to Bygdin, strap on the snowshoes and enjoy 2-3 hours around Bygdin; you can either walk along the frozen lake, up towards the Valdresflye or by the Vinstre lake. After the hike you’ll enjoy a meal at Bygdin hotel before the group returns to Bygdin to catch the coach to Oslo.
This guided hike is suitable for anyone, from beginners to advanced snowshoe hikers , young and old, and experienced or new hikers. Get a break from the big city and travel to one of the most beautiful places in Norway. Spend the day in the snow “shoes” of a real Norwegian.
